George H. Baker, III, CPA – Treasurer
George Baker was born in Louisiana. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Tulane University and his Master’s from Louisiana State University. He continued his course studies towards his MPA at Georgia State University. George has a decorated military career serving in the United States Air Force as a Russian Intercept Specialist with postings in the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Turkey. He was awarded the USAF Meritorious Service Medal and their Air Medal with Leaf Cluster.
George started his accounting career as the office manager for Southeast Bonded Warehouse. From there he moved on to be the adjudicator for the US Veterans’ Administration. In 1977 he went into private practice opening Tucker Business Service. After George obtained his CPA license in 2000, he formed George H. Baker, CPA where he remains as president.
He joined the Georgia Association of Accountants and Tax Professionals in 1985. He served as a Governor on the Board from 1988-1992. He was chair of the Education Committee from 1988-1994 and is a Past President of our organization (94-95). George currently serves as our Treasurer, a position he has held since 1998 with the exception of a small hiatus in 2006-07. His other professional affiliations include the National Society of Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accounts.
George enjoys spending time with his adoring wife Davida and son Andrew. He is active at the Campus Church of Christ in Norcross.
