Wanda W. Goodson, CPA, ABA, ATA – Governor
Wanda W. Goodson was born in Canton, Georgia and received her BBA in Accounting from the University of Georgia. In 1975 she opened her private practice (Goodson Accounting and Tax Service) in Dawsonville, where she remains in practice to this day. Wanda received her Certified Public Accountant’s license in 1998 and continued on with her education to obtain the Accredited Business Advisor and Accredited Tax Advisor designation from the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation in 1999.
Wanda joined the Georgia Association of Accountants and Tax Professionals in 1988 after having joined the National Society of Accountants a year earlier. She is a two time past president of our organization and when not serving as president has remained a member of our Board of Governors since 1997. Wanda is a past president of the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation and is currently serving in that capacity again. She has been very active the National Society of Accountants also serving on their Education, Professional Development and Right to Practice Committees. In addition, Wanda has served as NSA State Director (97-01) and as NSA District IV Governor (02-05).
Wanda’s volunteer service includes the Lake Lanier Obedience Club, the American Kennel Club and the Dawson County Arts Council. In her spare time she breeds and shows Tennessee Walking Horses and Boston Terrier Dogs. She enjoys her life in Dawsonville with husband, Phil, and daughter Aimee.
